Abstract
This article analyzes the digital construction of the Mediterranean tourist image through a comparison of five institutional portals: Visit Morocco, Experience Egypt, Go Türkiye, Italia.it, and Spain.info. Situated within Information and Communication Sciences, the study considers these platforms as devices of cultural mediation, patrimonialization, and the circulation of symbolic goods. It examines how they promote cultural diversity while adhering to globalized formats shaped by platformization. The methodology is based on a qualitative comparative analysis supported by a grid structured around four dimensions: image, heritage, digital features, and interculturality. The findings identify three models—patrimonial, experiential, and hybrid—but also reveal a convergence toward standardized formats dominated by visual content and platform logics. The article thus highlights a tension between cultural differentiation and digital normalization.
